In a recent article written by James Crumbaugh III, the article is not what you thought –although the title did capture some attention. The article examined the question: Will our profession cease to exist in the next ten years?
He stated that the real estate profession it will cease to exist as we know it today. Just as the wagon trains led way the Iron Horse that gave way to airplanes and jets, allowing people to move across the county and around the world.
With all that being said, I can’t think of a better profession in the world to be in than real estate. This industry will exist in some form or another.
Just think about all the land around the world with a population that doubles every few years. It is simple supply and demand.
Real estate values will continue to rise, and the real estate professional will continue to become more and more valuable in the process. There will be new systems in place with someone involved in the transfer of this great real estate wealth.
James Crumbaugh stated that in 30 years from now when he lives on the water in Florida, someone will buy the same piece of property for $30 million, they will say, “What do you mean you only paid $1 million for that property?”
Isn’t it fun to look back at an old ad or a community brochure and look at the real estate values only a decade ago? Just imagine 30 years from now! We will still exist, but perhaps in a different way.
Our industry is up and down, rough and tumble one in which really only a few survive to make it a lifetime career. This is my career, and I absolutely love this industry. I love the people and the continually changing daily challenges I face. My dad often said, “Do what you love and love what you do, and you will never have a day of work in your life.”
I promise my customers and clients; the joy of owning a new home is all yours, the pleasure of the process is all mine.
Enjoy the day.
