December 1, 2009 is the expiration date for the first time home buyers tax credit (halfway there)- the questions still on the table are:
1)How many homebuyers are aware of the tax credit at this half way point?
2) How many homebuyers have taken advantage of the credit?
Education is key, 1st time homebuyers are aware of the tax credit, but few are aware of the programs details. Real estate brokers have informational websites that encourage and educate 1st time home buyers to purchase using the incentive. Builders and developers have added additional purchasing incentives to match the $8,000 stimulus to entice buyers to get off the fence and purchase a home. All real estate agents encourage first time home buyers to take advantage of the stimulus.
The incentive is designed to stimulate the economy but also encourages buyers to act and receive the benefit of the stimulus package.
Now that the expiration time is only several months away, hopefully buyers will get off the fence and take advantage of the stimulus before it is too late!
